About Us
OUR STORY
We are located in Upstate New York, in Livingston County. We raise one of the smallest breeds of rabbits, the Netherland Dwarf.
I [the owner] have owned rabbits since 2018 but started breeding and raising them in 2021. Currently Dogwood Blossoms' is a small closed rabbitry, that only has a few litters a season (I would love to have more litters, but I don't have quite enough does at this time).
I raise Netherland Dwarfs to the ARBA standard and don't let any rabbits out of my care without a pass of good health. Most, if not all, of my rabbits are pedigreed or partially pedigreed with clean lines (i.e. no vienna).
My first rabbit was Netherland Dwarf who I named "Echo" [pictured above]. He passed in 2020 from severe E. Cuniculi. Around the time he pasted, I got my first doe [Primrose] who I had planned to breed to Echo. Sadly, that could not happen because of Echo's parasite and his passing. I was able to find a buck to breed to my doe and had my first litter in May of 2021. Since then, we have grown significantly in size.

Our
Program
My main project is chinchilla, I love the beautiful gray they are. Along with my chinchillas, I use silver martens to enhance the cchd (chinchilla) gene. As of now my goal for my chinchilla/martens is to work on bodies width and shape.

I have a very small chestnut program as well. My goal with my chestnuts as of now is to get the beautiful amber color they are called for to standard.

I no longer work with otter, but occasionally I'll still have one pop up.
